According
to the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution,
Volume 9, there are two American War Patriots from the Davison line.
Asa Davison, who had fought int he early wars, was fife major during the Revolution. A fife major is: "a noncommissioned officer who superintends the fifers of a regiment."
Ezra Davison (1765-1834) enlisted at the age of sixteen and served as matross in Capt. Banjamin Durkee's company. A matross is: "a onetime gunner's mate (as during the American Revolution) that assisted in loading and firing and sponging guns."
Asa Davison enlisted, 1778, in Captain Nathaniel Webb's company, 4th brigade, Connecticut troops, under Colonel John Durkee. He was born in Preston, Connecticut.
Ezra Davison was on the pension roll of Rensselaer Country, N.Y., 1831, for service as private, Connecticut militia.
